Meet Even, a local business owner in Hattfjelldal 2025

Nordic Wind had a pleasant conversation with Even Nyhagen at Hattfjelldal Hotel, asking who they are and what they think about Helgeland and Hattfjelldal.

Helgeland is our home – both as people and as a business. Based at Hattfjelldal Hotel, we run Goextreme.no / Mosjøen Scooterutleie – an experience-based tourism company with nature as its starting point. We are closely connected to the local community, business and the landscape around us.

As a local resident and business owner in Hattfjelldal, what do you like best about Helgeland?

Helgeland offers a rare combination of wild and beautiful nature, vibrant culture and strong traditions. This gives us a unique foundation for creating experiences that both touch and engage.

What are your guests interested in when they come to you?

Our guests seek authentic experiences, tranquillity and proximity to nature. They appreciate sustainable choices, local food and culture, and not least being greeted with warmth and knowledge about the area.

Wind power development is part of the green transition and electrification efforts. Do you have any thoughts on this work?

We are committed to taking responsibility for the environment and contributing to a more sustainable future. At the same time, it is important for us to be aware of how such changes affect the local community and our partners.

You've probably heard about the Hattfjelldal wind power project. Do you have any thoughts on this and how it could contribute up here?

We maintain a neutral stance on the project. As a player in the tourism industry, we collaborate with many different groups – including reindeer herders – and it is important for us to maintain trust and dialogue across different interests.

What is your relationship with Nordic Wind?

We have had a good and open dialogue with Nordic Wind. They have shown interest in our local knowledge and been responsive in discussions, which we appreciate.

What synergies do you see between your tourism business and the project?

There is potential for cooperation, particularly in the areas of sustainability and local value creation. At the same time, it is important that such projects are carried out in harmony with nature, culture and existing industries.

“Our role as a neutral player in the project and with respect for all partners. I see potential in us working together to develop sustainable solutions that strengthen both nature and business here in Hattfjelldal.
